To the left of the pump is the diverter valve. The motor is on the front (Grey top) look down and into the body of the valve to see the metal spindle. When the power is turned on and off you should see this move in and then out. If not then the diverter motor is duff.
You said the boiler is about two years old; they have a two year warranty providing it was serviced in the first year. If they ask just say it was done by the installer.
Well Beerlover I think you are right. I cannot see the spindle move and the sound when switched on/off seems to come from that motor so something must be sticking. I'll call GlowWorm warranty people and see what I acn get them to do.

I took one more look before calling anybody. I disconnected the motor from the three way valve and manually operated the valve. I checked the motor is working by switching boiler off and on. All seemed ok so refitted motor. CH now works OK. Probably a sticky valve or the motor may have been disconnected from the shaft.
