The others don't count because theirs no condemnation or criticism from them. Their silence gives tacit consent or approval to the extremeists. Because of this silence, who knows whether they are pro or anti the extremeism?

Can you show me examples of where the 'peaceful majority' have condemned the excesses of the fanatics and people setting up sharia law zones in The UK?

I'm not looking for apologies, just the silent ones to tell the loonies to stop protesting and attacking their host county. Or, if they're so unhappy about things being done our way, leave. Go back to their own countries. Not too much to ask is it?

99.99999 % off what happens is not reported in the media but it still happens

i can only form a true opinion off what is happening by what i see with my own eyes in the real world
the comments from other will bear a little or a lot to my thoughts depending on what i know about them

i tend not to have long conversations about subjects with like minded people as you learn little and can finish up with an unbalanced veiw

I'm afraid it's a modern disease. People are constantly being told that they shouldn't be judgemental. It's seen as Victorian or authoritarian to do so.

So instead anything goes and the majority sit on their hands and we get deeper into the mire.

Edit: Just read some of your other posts so I can now see that you are islamophobic. So why can't you just say that, instead of hiding behind this "atheist" label? You do a disservice to the rest of us atheists who don't have the same level of bile and hatred that you do.

Maybe we should lose the atheist tag and just say I don't believe in any god. And yes I hate islam because it is responsible for so much evil in the world today. Humans can be evil enough without killing each other in the name of religion. Sunnis and Shias killing each other is just mental.

And like some on here, I have quite a few friends who are muslims, and they are genuinely nice people. And I don't feel threatened by them.
But the reason I like them is because they are nice people, not because they are muslims. Their religion should be transparent. They may also be into dogging - I don't care. In the context of our friendship, we have things in common.

The bad side of Islam is that pervasive, contolling nature that takes over... how many restaurants do you know now have only halal meat? I hate the idea of halal meat...not only is it illegal, it's also extremely cruel and can only be performed by a muslim... so our butchers need to wake up!

Sharia law...it'll seep it's way into decisions and society slowly but surely.

Some of you think you're safe because you don't believe in it... well I don't believe in any of the major political parties yet my life is being ruined by them !!!

The point I want to make about Islam is that as non muslims we don't take much very seriously... but muslims take their religion very very seriously... that's where the potential conflict will lie !

the ones you see in the press are the extremist possibly representing 0.2% off the people
the other 99.8 will range from don't care not interested to avid and keen but not as fanatical as the worst ones
non off the 30 or so muslims i know personally have any thought that would cause any problems

I don't know where you get your figures from, but look at a map of the world overlayed with wars and islamic beliefs. Then overlay it with christianity, and finally with atheists beliefs.

I'm not ignorant - far from it, I'm one of the nicer guys on here.
Racist? - that's the ace card ... yet islam is not a race, it's a religion, therefore I can't be racist.

Bigot? really depends on which dictionary you read, but no, not when I work with India, have a best buddy who's afro carribean, and also believes my place on this planet is no more important than yours!

I'm intrigued by you, because of the way you reacted and then worded your dig... unusual for this type of forum.

But as you're blocking me, let me squeeze in a brief explanation... I don't believe in a god... therefore when people (any) come to me and tell me that I should change for their religion, I get cross. More broadly, when I see people - including children - getting blown up, shot, tortured etc in the name of a mythical character from hundreds of years ago i get really cross... and the reality is, that irrational need to kill their non believers is heading this way !! and I've had enough!

I see that, since my last visit yesterday, the 'Deleted Threads' thread has been deleted.

It goes without saying that I don't know why; there has been no explanation.

I'd really like the mods or admin to provide a clear list with objective statements of what word or words are unacceptable. The word 'offensive' is no help whatsoever as what is offensive to me is certain to be not offensive to some others.

I know that the 'Deleted Threads' thread was broadly similar to this one, so I expect this will also end up lost in the ether.

Edit: 'Another case kept quiet' has also been deleted. It's becoming like Communist Russia on here!
