Underground supply pipe leak

I did ask the question Tony. Was told not required. I am No expert obviously otherwise I would not seek help on here.
Copper olives yes.
It is a temp fix in the garden underground untill it gets dry enough to get a trench dug for replacment of the whole length.
Take your point re inserts on board though. Makes sense.

beefster, Why bother with repairs. I would dig the trench for a new MDPE supply.
Call the utility.
Prepare the installation, and install the pipe.
After the connection you can abandon the old (probably 3/4" alkathene) pipe and make any tee'ing off's required in the new MDPE.

Its not thick external water supply pipe.

But a thin plastic pipe similar to the old Acorn.

If you have a house, should there be original supply from street to house? I find it odd having plastic / glue joint connected straight onto house supply without any stopcock or similar?

With glued joint? Don't think so.

Not really, still going as Durapipe.

Op, I know it been fixed, just in case it doesn't work, you can get fitting for this type of pipe, as it sound like Durapipe.
