Universal Credit is madness

Well OK, "do you want..." is not a big question. Neither is "are you a pedant?". But "should anything be done about it and if so, what?" is a big question.

GDP is improved with an educated and healthy workforce. Public health and education does not undermine entrepreneurship but advances it because educated and healthy people are more likely to be risk takers than the poor kids of poor parents who are trying to live week to week where any sudden expenditure such as a boiler breaking down can become a decision between feeding yourself or keeping warm.

because it brings in lots of hard-working, healthy young immigrants.

Qualitatively, the U.S. has historically had the greatest flexibility in how both capital and labor are deployed. Many developing countries have made it difficult to raise capital (e.g., countries like Malaysia or Angola with capital controls) or to preserve one's returns on capital (e.g., Russia, where your well-connected Russian partner can simply say "Your shares or your life."). Other countries have sclerotic labor rules, such as much of Western Europe, where many benefits are mandated, and it is difficult to fire people. They are free to invest and can access great technology, but they don't have as much opportunity to deploy it. Ironically, their labor protection rules have likely resulted in both relatively lower productivity and lower employment rates than the U.S has historically experienced

Which US site did you copy that from?

Using American English is usually a dead giveaway. :p

It's a mish mash of economics terms and points without actual any specific numbers or argument but if it wins in the buzzword bingo - it must be right?

The US has the largest and most technologically powerful economy in the world, with a per capita GDP of $49,800. In this market-oriented economy, private individuals and business firms make most of the decisions, and the federal and state governments buy needed goods and services predominantly in the private marketplace. US business firms enjoy greater flexibility than their counterparts in Western Europe and Japan in decisions to expand capital plant, to lay off surplus workers, and to develop new products

How is that relevant when making comparison between gdp/capita USA to UK?

When the point of discussion is gdp growth and what impacts that. Then you need to understand how the growth came about. As to comparisons nominal figures are just that, suggest you also factor in the Gini coefficient.

Fill your boots with the headlines of the DM.
Do not bother with the underlying story. Take the DM at its honest reporting. :ROFLMAO:
Or as in your case, search the internet for stories that further your bigotry against foreigners and Muslims.
