To throw a spanner in your works it has to be carried out by a Part p certified electrician I am afraid.

What has to be carried out by a part p electrician ? Drilling a hole ??

I know a part p has obviously got to connect the fan but not core drill !!

Don't start giving them ideas else we won't be able to plug a radio in without having to meet some kind of building regulation.

Not that anyone should be plugging in a radio in the bath lol

just picking up on a couple of comments in this thread

1) DO NOT use a drill without a clutch esp. when drilling large diameter cores. If the core binds then you run a significant risk of doing yourself a serious injury - a broken wrist is not uncommon.

2) If you are using any drill with hammer action, switch the hammer off when using a diamond core cutter

Good luck!

Thanks for everyone's comments.

I've got a plumber coming round on Thursday who will do it for £15, think thats a bargain.
Sparky will fit it for £50 so it's gone from £120 from the sparky who let me down to £65 which is good.
