A neighbour has an oldish Potterton Performa 28 combi. A non-condensing model. I believe it is similar to Baxi models. Can the old flue be used with a modern combi, condensing or non-condensing? This prevents removing the flue from the wall. If the old flue can be used, does anyone know which models are applicable?

It can't be done as the flues are not compatible.
It would take about 1/2 hr to swap the flues on an average house.

It is not an average house it is a flat on the upper floors. Coupling a new boiler onto the old flue would be ideal. I am sure some makers must have used the older flue kits on new boiler range. I wonder if Baxi and Potterton did it. It seems such an obvious thing to do. There are millions of flats around.

Well thy didnt you need a new flue those ones cannot be re used on the newer models

For very obvious reasons that anyone who knows what there doing with gas and boilers will know, the old flues (on any make) can not be used with the new boilers

Is this the same flat that you wanted to fit an SE boiler to, thus ignoring everyone's advice in the process and getting your 2 previous threads locked Mr Drivel?

The guy who didn't install your SE boiler will be able to advise you far better than we can.....Just as soon as he learns to speak English.

Old flue can not be used with new boiler. You have to get new flue to fit with new boiler.

Metal inner flue cannot be used with condensing boiler.

Daniel.
