Depends where you parked it!How on earth does having your door mirror knocked off mean you're a higher risk in future?!

mates tesla went up from less than 500 to over 1000 , with no change in detailsTesla Insurance was cheaper this year and the model I am looking to replace it with, was cheaper still to ensure, despite being quicker and obviously more expensive due to being new.
BMW was more expensive. Seems odd how they price. I understood its due to capacity to insure at the time of renewal.
"More to it" usually does bump things up a fair bit. There's more to it but it has bumped it up alot.
This was what I was bracing for.mates tesla went up from less than 500 to over 1000 , with no change in details
so do you have a whole load of points for such high premiums, or is this a Tesla thing? I wonder what the price would be if you could remove the "FIRE" riskThis was what I was bracing for.
But my quote for Model 3 Performance 2024 was just over 720 quid. My mates model Y dual motor is £900.

Likelihood of being stolen will also be a factor in the cost of insurance.
As will likelihood of it being stripped, and the parts being sold on.
Also, perhaps tesla drivers are seen as being a lower risk than BMW drivers.
There's a lot of factors priced into insurance.
Maybe but usually it makes f*all difference… 10% off a quote that’s higher than shopping around.Don't you reckon you have advanced driving qualifications and, if so, wouldn't declaring those reduce a premium?
No points. It’s down to the performance and repair costs risk. And maybe the sucker factor that you can load the premium by convincing people they are highly likely to catch fire.so do you have a whole load of points for such high premiums, or is this a Tesla thing? going on the standard of driving I have seen by these so called 'advanced drivers' (or those who claim be) - I would add 50%Don't you reckon you have advanced driving qualifications and, if so, wouldn't declaring those reduce a premium?
I haven't. It's not a club I want to be in.So you haven’t done it then ?
