Wall switch security timer installation

Thank you John too for your input and in helping me post the photos, especially as that kind of help seems to be frowned upon by some.
You're welcome, and I'm glad things seem to be sorted out. For whatever reason, some people here appear to spend their entire life looking for things to frown upon, so I would suggest that you don't loose any sleep over that!
Hope you and Lectrician have a great night.
... and you.

Kind Regards, John

Then get an electrician - your attitude to learning and understanding, and underpinning your practical work with sufficient genuine competence is appalling.

Your social skills are appalling, so maybe you should go and get a degree in psychiatry, rather than seeking psychiatric help.

I have a feeling your initial lamp was not allowing the internal battery to charge. Changing to the normal type of lamp has allowed the battery to begin to charge, and the unit to start to function as it should.

I think even some 'pro' sparks would struggle to fit that timer without a little scratching of the head to begin with, as it goes a little against the convention of how standard two way switching is wired, and your wiring (while not too unusual) is a little different still.

I struggle to understand what BAS thinks this forum is for...

It is not (or should not, in all conscience, be) for people to get connecting-up-by-numbers instructions because they do not know, and do not want to know, what's going on here:

The "give a man a fish..." concept is extremely valid.
