WC not flushing due to dropped disinfectant holder.

Is there any way to remove the disinfectant holder from the u-bend of our WC? We have tried a coat hanger to little effect. Is there any type of attachement that can be obtained that might increase the chances of extracting it from the WC? Otherwise are we going to have to remove the bog etc? Thanks for any ideas.

Apart from getting your hand in or perhaps hand with a bent coathanger wire
the 'bog out' method is the best, easiest and cheapest way.

If we take the WC out should the existing pan connector remain watertight or should this be replaced?
