PARIS — France will not pay emergency cash to businesses based in fiscal paradises, Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire said today."

"If your headquarters is located in a tax haven, it is obvious that you will not be able to benefit from public aid," he said on France Info radio.

"If you have benefited from the state's cash flow, you cannot pay dividends and you cannot buy back shares," he added."

"Denmark And Poland Fire Warning Shot To Europe’s Tax Avoiders, ‘You Won’t Get Bailouts’"

"Poland and Denmark have sent a clear message to businesses that make use of tax havens, excluding them from government bailouts and coronavirus relief programmes.

Tax havens are a huge problem for the European Union with billions of money needed to fight the coronavirus pandemic being lost each year. The fightback now looks to have begun.

Tax Justice Network claims $500 billion in tax every year is lost to multinational corporations “abusing the law to pay less than they owe in tax.” They point to the figure being “250 times greater than the UN’s appeal for a $2 billion fund to tackle coronavirus in the world’s poorest countries, which has yet to be met.”

John Ive said there will be a re-balance and a lot of positives that come out of this madness. This I hope will be one.

The UK of course won't join in.

Since our 'overseas territories' are the worst offenders.

That's why the vested interests brought about brexit!

So nothing for their ports, agriculture, car manufacturers, energy sector and air transport all benefiting from favourable tax subsidies.

I thought David Cameron brought about Brexit. I thought he was a remainer - did he have a vested interest then?

Another well-thought out and detailed response from mottie.

Not very convincing.

brexit was driven by rich businessmen for the opportunity to deregulate -give Tories and their mates licence to make loads of dough at the expense of the public

that is why there is a hidden network behind Tory cabinet minister, US business, fossil fuel interests and brexit think tanks that push out lies for you to swallow.

Matthew Elliott is the key figure and the location is Tufton street.

And one day you and the rest of the S club are going to post something praising the government but not, I suspect, until that pig flies by.
