He probably won't be in court (for this) before the next election. He'd have to deliberately ask for an early trial date and hang onto a set of lawyers for more than half an hour. Also assuming the prosecutor's don't ask the judge to recuse herself and have another judge brought in.

Not really. It's pretty easy to drag out cases for years, and Trump will want to get into power first so he can cancel the case.

In the UK you're waiting a couple of years at the moment for anything even vaguely complicated, let alone an espionage case.
