She was appointed by him, despite her lack of experience, and in an earlier stage of the investigation made an intervention he requested that was overturned on appeal as there was absolutely no legal basis.

The US justice system is very different from ours. We assume it's the same- it's not. Have a look at it- the power that the judge (any judge) has really could have him free without much of a trial at all.
