What are you watching on TV right now?

Persian Lessons - a film last night, on BBC Four. It's on Iplayer. With sub-titles, well worth the effort. Set during WWII, in a Holocaust camp, one of the inmates pretends to be a Persian speaker. A German officer with plans to survive the war, wants to learn Persian for his own escape to Persia after the war, so takes the prisoner under his wing to teach him. Magnificent twist at the very end of the story, which is supposedly based on fact.

We'll look at that, thanks!

Watched the Mac programmes, love the music. Rumours has to be my number 1 fave album.

Watched a bit of the West Ham match tonight - good to see that cat kicking **** Zouma was booed every time he kicked the ball. He needs a good kicking.

Turned over to see the Brits but didn't recognise many on there except for Ronnie Wood who seems to have acquired an American accent!

I’m watching BBC4, there’s a programme about the car industry in Coventry. I’ve seen it before but I like this kind of thing.
I had The Brits on too but they all seem to be nobodies so I couldn’t be bothered watching.

Me too, with the presenter who is a doctor come DIY helicopter builder. Then the interesting program on iron, straight after it - magic.

Are you being sarcastic about the iron programme?

If you can remember the name of the car industry programme, that would be great....I have searched iPlayer and can't find it.

Thanks.

He is a vet.
He is a veterinary surgeon. There's a difference. Funny thing, Ellal with two alleged 'doctor' sons made a similar mistake a while back. He confused a vet with a vet nurse. Coincidence?

Nope, I simply had it in mind he was a doctor, from that building series where he built amongst other things an helicpter.

Not at all - Metalworks was the name 23:00 BBC Four and very interesting.

22:00 Classic British Cars Made in Coventry - with Mark Evans BBC Four and it is on again right now. 02:30
Cheers! I will look forward to those.

Is a veterinary doctor not a doctor, or a doctor of law or engineering etc?

I think having a first class degree in any subject (a doctorate) makes you a true doctor.. I think it is only a courtesy thing that medical practitioners, GPs are allowed to call themselves doctors. So in a strange sort of way those who we all think of as being doctors are not true doctors (unless they have a degree in some form of medicine on top of their medical qualifications.

I remember seeing a doctor (GP) talking to a doctor (of philosophy) saying he was a proper doctor I am an honorary doctor
