TBH I wouldn't like the job of emptying the bins in the local parks, I'd say a good 80% of the contents are bags of dog poop.

Where I go, they have dedicated dog poo bins. I hold my breath going to and coming from them. Dog poo is like babies poo. You can stomach your own but not other peoples!

Reading through the posts most are not really aware of where to put their dog mess and I guess most people are not.

LL's in certain boroughs have to pass a fitness test and they pay for this licence and it is renewed every x years they have to prove they are aware of certain things. So why not do owners?? Last few days several serious attacks on children and at least one death.

Part of the dog owners licence should include how to treat a dog, what to and not to do, your duty to clean the dog's mess, give the dog a nice home be aware of safety re people around you and dog must be insured for medical expenses as well as public liability insurance etc. This would safeguard the dog
from many woes and when the public is attacked, some die, some are injured for life physically and/or mentally, cover their costs and injury - all should be part of a licene for dog owners, IE be a fit person, able to afford insurance for vet and liability and demonstrate they have enough money to feed the dog etc and be a fit person to have a dog licence.

Just wanted to add a bright idea I've just had,

Fact - almost every London borough charges 60 quid plus per annum for garden waste. This service used to
be inc in your council tax but it all changed several years ago in order to make more money

Why not force every dog own property a 'dog poo wheelie bin charge' just like the garden waste charge

Let's say 100 a year for one dog then an additional 60 for every other dog.

To add icing to the cake, ensure all do poo is packed in a bio-degradable bag,

I would also urge the waste bin collectors to monitor the poo ie if hardly anything in the bin send the dog warden around to ask questions as they may not be picking up their dogs mess left on outside your drive/gate, the road that people step into. This will make our pavements roads much cleaner IMJ.

My dog only weighs 5.8kg do she does small poos and we feed her cotswold raw brand food - basically raw meat with veggies etc - which means smaller less smelly poos than foods containing carbohydrates, ie grains, rice etc

IF the borough were to introduce dog poop disposal charges I'd be fine, I'd put all my dogs poop into the Humanitarians bin instead

Force people to pay for a service that they might not need? How bizarre. You should advise Putin and Kim Jong-un, they love these sorts of suggestions.

Good luck with "urging" refuse collectors with examining the contents of every bin they empty.
