With a turnout of 84% in the Scottish referendum that's no mean feat to get so many scots out to block you.

Nicola Sturgeons biggest electoral asset was Boris Johnson, without having him to moan about, I think she realised the writing was on the wall

support for Scottish independence only got above 50% for a short period and has now settle below -I think if the SNP party is to survive long term it needs to focus on other things.

Like her or loath her, a formidable politician, like Alex before. The current crop of candidates are in a lower political league, and independence is almost dead in the water.

Her political career ended like all the others; in failure. Independence is, as Blup points out, dead in the water, so the next tenant in Holyrood will be little more than a national councillor, allowed to make legislation on dog licences and local parking regulations but nothing really important.

Nobody think she was part of the establishment and her purpose of always promising was just that. Salmon was more of astute politician and a beast if truth were known. Things don't add up as to why he let Sturgeon run the referendum campaign.
Think the Scottish people on here have more of an incite than me, so a bit of guesswork on my behalf.
