Secure: If you find 30A terminals a 'bit too big' for lighting cables, then you must have a devil of a job terminating one or two 1mm wires into a standard MCB - which has a much greater capacity.......
A 30A jb is very effective at nipping up a pair or more of lighting cables. It has the benefit of so much more room for a decent length on the cores and spare capacity for and extra connector block or two (or three).
High resistance joints are more common on the smaller jb's than they are on a 30A enclosure whatever the size of wire.
The 30A rating is a maximum rating and certainly not a minimum.........
