What have you been doing today?

What I did yesterday, I couldn't post it as a today job, I was a bit busy.
Mounted the new rotavator on the back of the tractor, including adding the odd bits of protective metalwork. I had to shorten the PTO shaft a tad. First time for me so I was a bit nervous, but it went easy and straightforward.
Then used it on the field, it went like a dream.
Then I had time to dismount it, put the gang mower on and cut the grass all round. Then dismount that, and put the topper on, went round the edges and down the verge alongside the road.
Finished about 7.00pm but a good days work.

Back to installing a velux in the roof today.

Went in my usual dog walk today and I’ve started taking a proper camera with a zoom lens out with me today - only a little Sony HX9V that I’ve dug out of a drawer but hoping to get some better pictures.
In the last year or so, I’ve seen a lake being dug in a field, a fair distance from where we walk. I did investigate it a month or so ago and it seems to be a duck/goose farm. They have dozens of nesting boxes, a good fair few different species of ducks and geese and the whole lake is ring fenced with a high security fence, security lights, a track for vehicles to travel round, CCTV etc. A few weeks ago, they all disappeared ( sent to market?) but have started reappearing. I took this photo from a distance.

Also, just a few random photos - A Jackdaw, some baby cows, funghi and my dog having a crap - a bit blurry that one though.

Slight variation to the dog walk this morning. It was a bit warm so we diverted off to the lake to let them have a dip. Managed to catch a great action shot of my Susie launching herself after a ball I’d just thrown.

I had a coffee and some cheese and crackers about an hour or so before bed tonight. Mrs Mottie said I’d be up later. She was right!

Cleaned out and tidied the garden shed. Mrs Mottie keeps all her flower vases in there. One of them is particularly tall. Inside was a dead mouse. The mouse had obviously got in but the sides were too steep for it to jump or climb out. Poor thing must have starved to death or died of thirst. :(

Took my voluntary Covid antibody test and submitted the results (I’ve had my two astra zenica jabs, the last one a week ago).
The test seemed to be pretty foolproof - so long as the blood droplet hit the required target - and after a 12 minute wait it indicated that I have the longer lasting antibodies. Apparently its possible to have shorter lasting antibodies too.
Quite pleased with the result, I have to say! As far as I am aware, I have escaped Covid previously.
John :)
