What have you been doing today?

In the beaters wagon on the way there:

On the way back, sodden and shivering. I had to put my hat on her:

Jumped on a train at my local station and in just over 25 minutes we were up by Tower Bridge where we had a walk along the river and looked at the overpriced tourist tat and food stalls (£12 for a sausage in a roll) in the riverside winter market. Had a drink in a regular bar, got back on the train and went back home. Not a bad way to spend a few hours on a Saturday.

I do wonder who, or why anyone would pay that. Local place had a little tub of hot chestnuts, for £8. Just round the corner, in Home Bargains, they were selling ready roasted and shelled, for £1.25 for a much larger bag - or take a walk in the local park, and you can collect and roast your own.
