What have you been doing today?

I've never heard of front driveshafts vibrating on acceleration - did they vibrate on acceleration before the clutch was fitted?
Slight oil leaks could be nothing to worry about.
From what I can gather, it is only on the n/s, but I could be wrong. But yes, it has been vibrating for a good long while.

About cars, especially those that are imperative for work, I take the view that it is important to maintain them well, so they do not break down.

Mrs Secure complains we can't afford to do this, but my argument is that if she couldn't work, we'd struggle.

So it was last year that we were on the way back from the Smoke and I thought we should get the vibration checked out. I went out with the mechanic and he agreed he could feel vibration under acceleration and also noticeable going round corners. Once or twice, the traction control has kicked off too.

There must be something loose somewhere.

"not bragging but we never keep a car that is more than three years old bar one, a classic SL"
It's my fishing wagon, a passat estate. Needed a cheapish estate for fishing and dogs. Coming up for 5 years old and it's like Triggers broom. All new discs, all injectors replaced, new headlights, new bonnet cable. Nice and comfy/roomy and good on fuel, but must be the least reliable car I've ever owned, and I once owned a SD1.

Not bragging but none of my vehicles are less than twenty years old. A couple more than thirty.
They're an easy 'under the radar' inheritance.

I once owned a SD1.
I have owned many Leyland cars and apart from WAT items, they never gave me any grief.
They did all eventually start to rot away, but all did well over 100K. In the case of my Monty TD, it did 180K.

Very fond memories of that car.

RIP H424 LOX. :(

Went out in the car earlier.

The driveshaft vibration appears to have reduced in normal driving but increases on acceleration.

Re IHT - We hold gold blocks, 24c and the classic SL that works around CGT and already gifted mank, many k's within the IHT rules. Thanks

Got up late as got a cold/flu type thing picked up from our grandchild I believe.
Having second cup of tea and had 2 toasts, watching Mr Vine on C5.

Been looking at properties online.

Finally finished rotavating the new plot. Bloody hard work but not as hard as digging it over! We can at last start laying out our beds, borders and paths.

It's come on a bit since we took it over last September.
