Not bragging but we never keep a car that is more than three years old bar one, a classic SL
@The Humanitarian I’m starting to get into classic cars. I like the old Merc SLs. Can you share more details of your one please? Any pictures?

I've had a few classic cars. I've also had a few boats. With both of them you get two joys. The day you buy 'em and the day you sell 'em!@The Humanitarian I’m starting to get into classic cars. I like the old Merc SLs. Can you share more details of your one please? Any pictures?

I have only recently found out I owned classic cars, back then the were known as "sheds". Among these classic sheds was a Datsun 180B SSS, a VW type 3 fastback, a Triumph 2000 MKII with O/D and a Rover SD1. Probably worth a few bob now, especially the VW.I've had a few classic cars.
Pictures please Mottie
Beautiful beautiful beautiful work.I've built a few from a rotten shell up.

To be honest, I got more enjoyment from building them than driving them. At the end of the day they were 35/40 year old cars, restored to how they left the factory and that meant 35/40 year old heating, ventilation, steering, suspension and braking systems! A novelty to drive at first but the novelty soon wears off. Plus, Mrs Mottie refused point blank to go out in them because of all the looks they attracted.

Had a walk around a local NT property, met Charlie the resident cat who let me stroke him, jacket spud & tuna in the cafe
