What have you been doing today?

Watching my neighbour in full waterproofs jet washing his path in the pouring rain
That's actually quite sensible, whilst it's certainly a generally pleasing way to kill an afternoon or whatever, you (or at least I always) do end up caked in muck from head to foot.

Usual Monday morning dog-walk at out local country park but I'm starting to get a bit ticked off with commercial dog-walkers turning up single handed in their sign written vans with sometimes up to ten dogs, many of which are not on leads and they don't even pick up the dogs hit after them. It's got worse since lockdown ended as many idiots brought 'lockdown puppies' and now they are back at work, they realise they can't leave them at home all day.

I've just received our Essex explorer annual parking passes for both our cars (£75 per year instead of up to a fiver a day but £70 for two cars for us as we're over 60) and I noticed that it specifically states that the annual pass "Cannot be used for business use including parking". I've just sent off a complaint to ECC that the passes are being abused by those businesses. They are only coming to the park because it costs them less than £1.50 a week instead of up to £35 a week so hopefully my complain't may put a stop to them.

Other than that, I've been charging batteries up all over the house. Now the cold weather has all but gone, I can put many batteries back out in the garage after over wintering them indoors. That's 4 x 18v DeWalt batteries, my electric bike battery and my 2 bike lamp batteries. I also gave the portable dog washer and the Vax window cleaner thingy a charge as well as a couple of spare mobile phones that were in the drawer, a pair of Bluetooth headphones and a couple of power packs. They'll all probably be flat again before I use them though!

Made a makeshift puppy pen
And then sat in the sunshine for half an hour, in shorts and T-shirt. Luxury!

Ludlow is fantastic! My Gran was born just outside the town and lived there near the end of her life. Ludlow castle is lovely and great fun to have a sword fight in the grounds if you have a little one. The food festival is good, but, boy, it gets busy! The Feathers is a fantastic place to stay and good food, but is a bit expensive. We booked for our honeymoon in 1998.

Re the irrigation, try anything once!

Today I have sat down & spent a few hours with t'young lad who rented one of my smaller units to start up a motorcycle parts breakers.

WOW, what a transformation for a previously typically hopeless teenager. It seems to have totally 'gripped' him. He has this app on his phone that pings when he makes a sale & to watch him react the times that happened was a pure pleasure.

There's a few small businesses in that little cluster & none of 'em had a bad word to say about him, one chap even said he's been a big help to him & is often there 12+hrs a day.

I love it when a plan comes together . . . .

In between removing and resealing the shower door, a new battery arrived for a watch I found in the drawer. I think it was Mrs Motties when she was a teenager. Anyway, I risked £1.50 and ....it worked! The watch was tiny and the battery even tinier. Look at it in comparison to the size of my watch and even that's not a big 'un. So tiny I dropped the bloody thing getting it out of the watch and it took me ten minutes to find it. I might give it to my grandson to wear and learn to tell the time. It's not too girly for a young boy I don't think.
