Had to go to West London for work today. Even with an umbrella my jeans were absolutely soaked through just getting to Upminster station. Got to West London, barely spitting. Left there, still barely spitting, headed home, got out at Upminster - pîssing down. Massive puddles in the street by the station and the Ingrebourne river was flowing like the Nile in flood. At least my water butts at the allotment should be full.

Lol. I’ve heard no more about it. My friend does social media and put it on some local Facebook forums but no responses so far. It was definitely too far from any houses to be an escaped pet so I’m thinking it was one that got lost by someone out ferreting for rabbits the night before.

Update:
I contacted the wildlife hospital that I took the ferret to. They have just replied. They told me that two further ferrets were found at that location. One had been run over and the other one, along with the one that I took in, have been collected by a ferret rescue charity so it looks like they could have been deliberately released or dumped. Poor things - at least they are in good hands now.

Miserable out, nothing I was in need of, so a lazy day at home. Late lunch/early dinner - chicken casserole defrosted from two months ago, with sautéed potatoes and a glass of home made.
