What have you been doing today?

I've just noticed that Google search results on my Windows computer are now presented in a continuous scroll, rather than a page at a time. I'm sure, earlier today, it was still a page at a time.

Possibly did my last days (training) work in my workshop. School are asking me if I would consider carrying on a bit longer but my hearts not in it any more. I’ve not said no yet - I’ll keep them on the back burner for a while and might consider doing just one more term to finish up some students/upgrade some others. I have a meeting with a prospective tenant tomorrow so I’ll see how it goes. Has so many time wasters wanting the place but when it comes to stumping up a hefty deposit plus rent in advance they melt away.

Spent the morning digging out and photographing equipment that I will be getting rid of if I do decide on renting it out. I’ve got so much shît that I haven’t used for years.

Popped over the allotment on my way home tonight and picked some runner and French beans. It’s all happening over there now.

Last time I used this was about three years ago. I bundled it in the back of a storage shed in the corner of the yard.

Underneath it today I found this:

Doing similar to what Mottie has been doing, attempting the job of sorting out some of the mass of stuff, mostly tools, in my garage and workshop. I counted around 300 screwdrivers alone :(

Damn next doors cat! My neighbour caught this young dove on his front lawn just as the cat was about to pounce. He didn’t know what to do with it so brought it to me.
And again. This time I had to 'rescue' a hedgehog in their garden in case the cat got it. I boxed it up and released it behind our gardens. They called me 'Dr Doolittle’!

Had the family round for a BBQ. MIL, Son, his wife and our grandson plus our daughter and her husband. Our grandson is like a Duracell bunny - he never stopped and has worn all of us out. It's very quiet now that they’ve gone and Mrs Mottie has taken her mum home. I told her to leave the washing and clearing up. She can do that tomorrow……

Bit if a lazy day today. Dog walk, cleaned the Barbecue from yesterday, dashed over the allotment to chuck some water about and get back in time for the Formula 1 but while I was over there, I notice a few of my recently transplanted parsnip seedlings had wilted. I still had a few seedlings left in my seed tray so I set about transplanting a few more. When I started picking them out, I found these chopped up leaves buried in the seed tray compost:

Turned out they are the larvae cells of the leaf cutting bee. Up until yesterday, I’d never heard of it. Our daughter in law was round for a BBQ and told us she had found some in a plant pot yesterday. On our allotment, Bob, one of the plot holders, has beehives on his plot. I took them up to him to show him and he also told me what they were although he confessed that he had never heard of them until a couple of weeks ago when his sister sent him a video of a bee going into a hole in the ground with a leaf and coming out without it. He looked it up online and found out about them. I also saw a bee go into the seed tray compost last week and come back out again. I just thought it was one of Bobs bees being nosey! Apparently they are good pollinators so I’ve left them be. Or should that be Bee?

I've been refining my Gordon Gecko skills. Or luck. I'm not a billionaire quite, yet. A tad under 5% this week though, so not bad. That includes part of an opening jump Thursday, on what I'd left open, which was just luck. 10x in a year..o_O

Went to get my haircut this morning at regular barbers, been going there at least 5 years. Booked online, 11.20. Turned up on time and still two bods in front of me. Said he was running late - he has my number so could have called me. This is not the first time this has happened - I’ve seen it happen with others too. He used to be walk in only, then went to booking online only then went back to accepting walk ins as well as online but you can’t have both methods at the same time. One or the other and stick to it. Told him I’d try to get back later. Got home and looked online and found one that could do me as a walk in with no waiting. All done and only £12.50. Better than the £19 I normally pay. Was cut by a woman - haven’t had my hair cut by a woman barber for at least 20 years. Did a good job too, I’ll go back there again now and my regular barber has lost a customer. His choice.

How much???

When I pay, I usually look pay around £6 to £8, but lady friend insists on doing it for free at the mo'. I bought one of those Lidl rechargeable hairclippers, with the length guides, and ceramic blades. It does an absolutely fine job, and I don't have to make appointments, or even go out to get it done.

Appointments I hate with a vengeance, any sort of appointment - I have a bit phobia about being late for them, so tend to be there far too early. I'm usually waiting and ready for doctor/nurse appointments 45 to 60 minutes before they are due, so my preferred way is a walk-in.
