Went to a local amateur dramatic 'comedy' tonight. It was a comedy in the sense that it was dire - so bad it was good if you know what I mean. I thought I was hearing some kind of delayed echo but it turned out that one woman kept forgetting her lines and when she froze, another member of the cast would whisper her lines to her. Had some old codger who could hardly walk sitting behind me though and he absolutely reeked of stale pîss. Wasn’t all bad though - I won a piece of tat make-up bag in the half-time raffle. That’s Mrs Mottie sorted for Christmas! :ROFLMAO:

Sorry to hear that.

I said goodbye to my Dad in 2019.

I can't imagine life without parents.

Getting old is freaking me out.

In the first 6 months of this year, 5 people I know died. None actually related, but people I worked with in past or saw in the pub. Never known anything like it. Unfortunately 2 died and had funerals before I found out as I would have liked to have gone. Suppose it's one of the many downsides to being middle aged.

I had my flu jab booked at the quacks for Oct 5th but I went and had my covid booster today and they offered me the flu jab as well while I was there so I had that done too. One in each arm. I didn't cry or anything.

Marvelling at the (skoda octavia; blue, driving) female who skillfully managed to negotiate the roadworks........

...... without once looking up from her 'phone.

Kudos (y)

For weeks, I have been puzzling over a 'toot, toot' noise I have been hearing in the distance, today I think I may have solved it....

The railway at the back of the house - they are busy doing lots of work, to electrify it, and it's a quite busy main line. The toot, toot, is to warn those working near the line, that a train is on it's way.

I didn't realise they still used such old tech to warn them.

WRONG! It was (much) nearer to home. Avril had left her tablet on, and everytime a message came through - toot toot :)

Feeling a bit knackered now after my morning walk. Both arms aching in the muscles and I’ve got a bit of a headache. I was planning on sitting on the sofa and watching a film this morning but I’ve just had a couple of paracetamols and I think I'll …..lay down on the sofa and watch a film. :giggle:

I had a rare headache yesterday, and felt totally drained after spending much of the day on the phone, attempting to sort out my online prescription supplier. Every 8 weeks, they are supposed to supply them, every 8 weeks there have been issues with late delivery, or cutting the delivery so fine, I have had concerns they would not arrive in time.

My surgery sent the prescription electronically to them on the 11th, 13th the supplier emailed me to say they hadn't got it. Yesterday 18th I rang the supplier, who said they had it after all, but my prescription hadn't even been started, yet needed to be here before 25th. Then they claimed they couldn't get them to me on time, so I rang them tell them to put my prescription back on the spine, so I could get them locally. They said too late, it had already been passed to their robot, but delivery would be too days overdue, told to seek an emergency issue from my GP. Then they admitted they'd had the prescription after all, since the 11th, but had sat on it instead of processing it. They claim they need 10 days, prescription arriving, to being delivered to my door. 11th to 25th is a more than adequate 14 days..

All the phone calls to the supplier and my GP, took from 8:30 through to 2pm, my mobile ending up with a flat battery and too hot to hold. I ended up telling them to stuff their service, in future I will get them locally, and sort them myself. I then had to ring the GP, to ask for an emergency prescription, to see me through, until the pouches are delivered. Emergency prescription approved, at my local, and ready for collection the same afternoon.

This is the second online pouch supplier I have tried to use, and both have been completely chaotic, unreliable, we are doing you a favour, you should be grateful, sort of attitude.

Taking my monthly Vitamin D tablets and wondering why the tablets are so big. As far as I can work out, the amount of actual Vitamin D in each tablet is roughly the size of a single grain of table salt or granulated sugar. Maybe they make them big so you don't forget that they are high potency!
