What have you been doing today?

At least you’ve got the weather for it……

Not been too bad, rain we can cope with, in fact I quite enjoy the noise on the roof, when we are tucked up warm and comfortable in bed. The wind is more of an issue.

Home from home, central heating, and everything near at hand.

Been on another shoot today. Run by farmers and spread out over several farms. They run us between farms in a beaters wagon, pulled by a turbo nutter bastard tractor being driven by a 14 year old young farmer. I never knew tractors could shift that fast! We must have been doing 40mph down the lanes and all we could hear was the tractor turbo screaming at the top end of its rev range. It didn’t help that all we had were bales of hay to sit on and nothing to hang on to. This is the beast - can you see my dog keeping out of the mud. :ROFLMAO:

Home now and knackered, both me and the dog. As soon as we got home I popped her in a warm bath and gave her a nice wash down with some special doggie shampoo. She's had her dinner and is curled up next to me on the sofa. She won’t be moving from that spot all night.

Towing back to home. Rain stayed away on the way up, and whist getting set up, the remaining days, were very wet, apart from yesterday. Yesterday, there was a promise of high winds predicted for the early hours, which doesn't mix well with having an awning, but I decided to risk leaving it up. No wind at all, just a bright sunny day, with rain predicted for this morning. Lugging a wet awning home, is not good, so we took it down yesterday while the weather was good.

One couple turn up on Wednesday, but left for home the next day, concerned about the forecast storm to come.

Taking down the awning, is 75% of the job of packing up, so this morning, we were underway relatively early. On the way home, it absolutely bounced down, total white-out from the spray.

Last time there, they had been made into fully serviced pitches, so ready for this expedition, I made up a water pressure regulator, plus adaptors, to avoid the need for the water barrel and 12v pump. That worked absolutely fine - no more checking how much water was in the barrel, before taking a shower.

Final bit of Christmas shopping so Mrs C can get it wrapped before she has her hand op at the end of the month.
She loves doing all the wrapping in the week or two before Christmas, but this year she is going to be in plaster for about 3 months and severly restricted. All going to a local place for Christmas lunch, which will, hopefully, be a nice experience for us all.
Will be going to a Christmas Fayre just down the road tomorrow, just to get out and relax for a bit.

Replaced the TRV and lockshield valves on one of the rads in the kitchen/diner.

Popped round my mums on the way to pick up some rubbish from the allotment to take to the dump as she wanted me to program her Hive heating thermostat. Did that, asked her if she had anything to be dumped and ended up filling the car up!

Just as I was about to leave, AO turned up with a combination microwave she had ordered so I carried that in, took it out of the box and put it on the worktop for her. She wanted me to take that box and packaging to the dump too but there wasn’t room in the car. After I did her dump run, I went to the allotment, planted out some garlic and as I started to load up with my rubbish, I had a phone call from her. She told me she'd been on to AO and had a 'right row' with them as the roller bit that the microwave glass plate sits on wasn’t in the box. They were sending her another machine tomorrow. I went back round there on my way home, checked and found the 'missing' part sellotaped to the polystyrene packaging in the box. Good job I didn’t dump the box and packaging when she asked! I told her to get back on to AO, apologise and cancel the delivery for tomorrow.

Currently making a Sunday roast and I’m trying to get my pork crackling joint to crackle!

How old are you?

I thought you were in your late 60's at least.
