What have you been doing today?

Another 3 months money for self employed, I really, really wasn't expecting that. I'm not complaining.

I assume that's before you bought the van.
Your profits are illustrated on your yearly audited accounts statement. The capital purchase of the van will be declared later via the tax return and will affect the tax paid once the return is verified by HMRC. So yes, filly, you seem to get it (but not mottie).

My profits for my last full year so just shy of £59k. My later tax return will include the van and will be deducted.

Has anyone worked out their weekly rate based upon how many days/weeks they actually work per year?

Yes.

Did you ever do accounting?
No, but I get it now. I thought the 48 was this years profit after deduction for the van which would have still made your average over the allowable amount.

Anyway, this morning after trying a different yeast in my bread mix I woke up to a good 8 inches (ooh-err). I just hope it tastes as good as it looks. I’m sure there’s an actress/Bishop joke there!

There should be a ‘What did you do last night” post.

We had some drinks in the sex pond while the kids burned all the furniture in the house

Went round to my stepdaughters and helped her hubby to lay 64 concrete slabs for a new shed he has bought.
Came home and got straight in the shower to get the dirt off and then straight in the spa for an hour to relax.
Now sitting down with a well earned beer.

Oh and I also stopped my car to let a mother duck escort her 10 ducklings across a busy main road. :)

Local Asian corner shop has kept open throughout the crisis. Remained well stocked and not that much more expensive than the 'big boys'.

Found out that a couple of days ago I was undercharged on a few essentials (ok it was some wine) so went back this morning to rectify it.

Good deed done!

I thought you builders did quotes on the back of fag packets.
Lol, I wish.

I'm looking at drawings for building work around the £150k - £200k mark. I work out every fixing, tube of silicone, piece of timber, every brick. It's tedious.

I add it all together, including the labour charges then compare it with a sq/m price that I already have written down.

Took the dog out for an early walk this morning before it got too hot - it was her birthday today, a big fat 8.

Came home, had my breakfast then straight over the allotment where I saw that something, cat or fox, had had a meal on my spud patch.

Did some weeding and watering and harvested some of my salad crop - just some radishes and lettuce. Went home and by adding boiled eggs, feta cheese, Parmesan shavings, sun dried and normal tomatoes, olives and cucumber I made us a lovely salad for our lunch. I used the final crust of my home baked loaf for dipping in balsamic vinegar and virgin olive oil. Scrummy. (y)
