What The Heck Are The Birds Eating?

If the birds in the trees don't get you, the sap will. Can be quite difficult to shift from car paintwork.
We a a rather large dollop of bird poo on the roof of our Golf once. I didn’t wash it off for a couple of weeks and when I did, it had burnt through the top coat of lacquer. Now, if I see a dollop on the A3, I’m straight out there with a soaking rag and leave it to soak for a bit before pouring warm water over it to remove it.

Same here. Said to the other half recently "quick get some paper towel, some bird's pooed on the car!" "Don't be silly, it'll be miles away by now." was the reply. :giggle: The old ones are the best.

Seriously though, once bitten - plenty of water on some kitchen towel. Never had it burn right through, but can see dull marks in lacquer coat of metallic where I wasn't quick enough in the past. No longer let it dry on any more. Thinking back, brother did have a couple of patches on the roof of his old Mondeo years ago where it burnt through to undercoat. That $h!t is weapons grade!
