Something along the lines of a woodland burial place. For those people who like to be planted in a whicker basket.
Back to the earth sort of thing.

Did your friend do anything with the land yet?
He has 1 hectare I believe.
Grants currently available for planting trees are up too £4800 per hectare, with the current payment being £2800.
And further yearly payments to follow from various schemes.

Though the catch is you need a farm business identification number which should be logged with DARD.

I've got 8 hectares. :D

To be honest I posted this well in advance , the actual auction is coming up in the next couple of weeks or so. The plot has been divided into two plots for the sale and the agents have pointed out that the plot directly adjacent to my friends house has some "original" foundations on it almost infering that it may be possible to build on there where currently standing (just!) is an old pretty much unused barn.
Thanks for the information , I'll let you know how it goes.

I'd like to give you two acres.

Get a government grant to cover it in solar panels. You wouldn't believe e money they are offering to make this happen.

Parking? that'll make a mint...

Ask the council, they'll already know what you can do with it, best get them to advise the best option?

.
Then you might be able to put up a barn - only if you prove it`s for agricultural use ;)

Slightly more complicated than that as I should have explained properly. The foundations have been described as the original cottage foundations and they have called them by the name my friends cottage is and has been called for some time.
No use as parking sombrero except perhaps for hikers plus it gets boggy at one end of the field anyway, oh and access is down a narrow lane with passing places.

Solar Panel Farm would be best answer, grants could end up at about £1m per acre of Tax Payers Money over 25 years .
On shore Wind Farms have past their sellby dates, its all glass panel fields now. Just get on the Gravy Train.
