What to with this toilet waste pipe for laying subfloor?

Ah, apologies, thought you couldn't get the DC-1. You need something for the 45 socket to seal to unless you can solvent weld it?

do the 45 degree bends need solvent? thought they were just ring sealed pushfits? if not, putting in solvent is fine but have always read that solvent welds are somewhat risky especially areas where it'll be difficult to inspect.

I have just found a McAlpine flexi which is super long and would suit but its not a 'back-to-wall' (90 degree) connector. I wonder if this will be ok once the toilet is pushed in and angle wont put too much stress on the pipe? Any thought son this? I could try and add brackets to support the horizontal and vertical axis as much as possible to maintain shape and fall etc.?

Well one end is ring seal, the other is either solvent welded or pushed into another ring seal, but you don't have ring seal in the receiving end on the grey pipe

but the DC-1 would provide the female end facing up? then the male end of 45 degree go into that and the ring seal end of that would slot into the other bend; and the finally the flexi pan connector?

Yes, again apologies, I was still thinking about the dc-1 not being available :censored:

Haha no worries. I'm just grateful for the effort and help.

So still got a couple of questions from before. Is it ok to use the underground soil pipes instead of the normal soil pipe as it's half the price?

And do you think there's risk in having such short two 45degree bends together like this?

Or think now I've found the longer McAlpine Flexi, just go with that and trust the brand even tho it's a long Flexi?

Though I notice that long Flexi doesn't feature on McAlpines website and only few places stock them. Not sure it's thats a bad sign

I think the risk is the same either way, not much of one. As for underground stuff above ground, I can’t see an issue as it’s internal. @Hugh Jaleak may be able to advise anything different.

Underground stuff is ok to use internally, the difference is, between Underground and Soil, the above ground has UV protection to prolong it its lifespan from the effects of sunlight. Look at any underground pipe and/or fittings that have been exposed to the elements for a few years, the colour is very faded and the plastic becomes extremely brittle.

The Polypropylene 'push fit' waste just disintegrates, sunlight degrades the plastic, it goes really brittle and crazed, then just literally drops to pieces. Many Plastic pipe manufacturers recommend their products are given several coats of a suitable exterior gloss paint to help protect and prolong their lifespan.

Thanks for the detailed and interesting response! Im sure it'll be fine being indoors and under a first floor bathroom floor and enclosed within a back-to-wall toilet but feel like getting the normal soil pipes just from hearing that! haha

Just got to make a decision now I guess. Get a DC-1, two 45 degree bends and a WC connector. Or just that massively long McAlpine flexi which not many people stock (bad sign?).

sorry guys, just spotted this one by McAlpine. Designed for back-to-wall and extended length is that much longer which could possibly just work. it is a jubilee clip though - any thoughts on that please?

sorry for the confusion! just realised I've got two accounts on this email - not sure how that happened. think i had an old account and somehow when i logged in again (same email), its logged me in as the old one!

i might just get that new BTW flexi with the jubilee clip. i see there are mixed views on jubilee clips versus pushfit. but I thought with the jubilee, its a MACFIT range which means I can use the McAlpine Con 1 extension if I need hat extra length.

Would like any advice or thoughts on this arrangement please. As I'm looking to get this tonight or tomorrow.
