Wheel alignment

Yep that was the plan. Undo the “seat clamp” looking thing straighten the steering wheel and retighten

Does it matter which end we adjust or will we have to slacken both ends?

I might be wrong but, I think only the top end of the new part is splined.

Thanks I’ll start that end first in the morning when it’s daylight.

It feels like it’s quicker to fix than complaining but I’ll probably do both.

Job done, got it to about 2 degrees off perfect. Though always hard to know on a road with a camber. I reckon that can be done next time the wheel alignment is done.

Had this years ago when I got a local garage to change the same part on my Dolomite. When I collected the car the steering wheel was well out of alignment. So much so I couldn't believe they didn't notice it when shunting it out to the car parking area after doing the work. Though to the garage's credit they did get it back to where it should have been without quibble.
