When did diesel cars get complicated?

That you regard someone who believes in laws, and is critical of those who don't, as a smug, stupid tw@t says a lot about you.

I don't think you're a smug tw@t because you believe in laws or are critical of others. It's because you come over all holier than thou and immediately reach for gratuitous insults to attempt to boost your non argument. Not for the first time either. Insults I guess that someone like you wouldn't dare use if you weren't safely hidden behind your computer screen. Not very adult if you wish to be seen to be occupying the moral high ground.

"Holier than thou" is another deflection made by people who want to draw attention away from their failings. It is not a "non-argument" to point out that when you say "Only learners and old ladies driving a Honda Jazz stick to 20 now" that you're ignoring people who drive at 20 (where that's the limit) because they respect the law.

Because it really doesn't matter a flying **** how much someone refuses to accept any of the arguments in favour of 20mph limits, or refuses to believe any of the evidence supporting such limits, that does not give them the right to break the law. It just doesn't. Society doesn't, cannot, work like that.

And I've not reached for any gratuitous insults. Any criticisms I make of people are genuine and heartfelt.

No, indeed not for the first time, nor for the last.

I am consistent in my firm belief that people who object to life saving anti-pollution measures because they think perpetuating pollution is a good thing, who object to 20mph speed limits in built-up areas despite the mass of evidence attesting to their benefits and their popularity because they think they should never be expected to drive at less than 30mph are, indeed, morally bankrupt. And that they become even more deplorable when they try to make out that they are some kind of hero, someone to be admired, because of their refusal to countenance anything which benefits wider society if it inconveniences them.

And I would say that to anybody's face, any time, anywhere.

That doesn't work

It's moronic to dismiss 20mph limits as "forcing vehicles to grind along in lower gears"

It's moronic to suggest that anybody driving at the posted speed limit is "holding up traffic".
You appear to have completely, or deliberately, misinterpreted my input on this subject & seem obsessed with the word moronic, even though it's use is inappropriate.

I see no point in continuing this discussion.
