where to learn so I can do basic copper pipe plumbing etc

Hi all
Could anyone point me in the direction of where to learn how to make copper pipe joints (soldering etc) bends,and basic plumbing skills ?
I'm not trying to emulate a CORGI engineer, but it always looks so simple (and so expensive !) when I have to get a plumber in - and I can easily rebuild car engines.
Local college has nothing, and I cant find anything on the internet

if all you want to do is join and bend pipes then buy a plumbing book, this will tell you all the basics.

pretty basic, not much on pipe bending but gives an overall understanding of most aspects of plumbing.

my mum bought it for me when i first started. not much interest for a gas engineer!
