Who is attending Church on Easter Sunday?

In a society the fall in religious belief corresponds to the rise in science and knowledge
Yes, It appears to be so.
I can bring to mind a couple of highly science-led people though who are deeply religious. I quizzed one of them - a physicist, who said it was for the bits the science folk hadn't worked out yet. Hmmm.
Perhaps most people get their fill of science at a much lower level, and are aware there's such a lot of science they don't understand, it probably covers everything so god isn't needed. Faith in science?

Britain during the industrial revolution was a religious society.
That didn't prevent enormous advances in science and technology.

If someone rules out ID, why do they have to accept a multiverse theory? Why can't they simply believe it was a purely physical phenomenon and that we just don't know the answer yet.
Blind faith then? Nothing wrong with that as long as they don’t criticise those who thought god did it, having similar blind faith.

Don’t confuse my tolerance for other people’s religions as a suggestion they are right.

I warm more to the idea that the Big Bang was not unique.

But its the crux of the question of religion.

Which God ?

So many to choose from and no proof of any

I said advances in science led to less people to believe in religion.

I read a few years ago of an old nun in Italy. She was alone in a church. A man entered the church and raped her.

Now, assuming the nun has led a good wholesome life and served her god to the best of her ability, could her god not have saved her? Surely if gods are all powerful, in a scenario such as this the god could simply have made the man keep on walking past the church?

I get that religious folk will say god doesn't exist to make earth utopia and to pull every single string of badness to make it good. However it seems to me things are simply tweaked to suit the narrative.

Ill person survives ... it's a miracle!
Ill person dies ... it's gods will.

If religion is such a good thing for mankind, I would assert the outcomes over past centuries haven't been that great, look at the cluster f**k we're currently seeing all around the globe.
