They only said what most fellas would say. When the day comes that a woman is good enough to play professional mens football (never happen), that'll be the time to involve them in all of the other aspects of the game. Till then let them referee on and commentate on the womens game, and leave the mens game to the men.

Was nothing more than two men talking in private. Whoever recorded them and then gave the tape to the press should be sacked.

think the comments would be justified if she'd made some mistakes, but actually she had a good game, didnt get one thing wrong asfiak. I think thats what made it worse, cos there was no reason for it. I think if she'd messed up it comments would be justified as just football banter. I've not got a problem with female officials, as long as they do a good job and dont complain about the stick they'll obviously get. Anythings gotta be better than Howard Webb
I'm in aggreance that the source who disclosed the tapes should also be sacked, as he or she has brought the company into disrepute. Yes, it may have highlighted some slightly neanderthal attitudes, but they said what thousands of men have said or thought. Indeed, a mate said to me on Sunday morning at football,
"Female linesmen, whatever next?? Soon they'll be letting them vote!!"
Which we all chuckled at, and then seriously discussed the fact that she actually did well, as she should have done. That type of banter people will never stop, be it men targetting women, or vice versa. It's human nature, and it's also what makes the world go round. Show me a man or woman who has NEVER belittled a member of the opposite sex and I'll show you a liar. Men get targetted for Man Flu, being rubbish at domestic chores, never getting the correct shopping, buying the wrong things, saying the wrong things,etc., when it isn't true either. It almost seemed to me like Andy Gray was set up because he would rise to the bait, maybe because he was getting too big for his boots, who knows??
And we wonder why sometimes, when a sports or film star is interviewed and they are so guarded, to the point of seeming to be boring. I'd be wary of doing anything in public!!

What a load of PC carp.
Whilst I would never want to see discrimination against women, the disabled or people from ethnic minorities in the workplace etc, having a laugh with a mate about women ethnic minorities the disabled in private is OK by me.
I really do get offended by people who choose to be offended.

My only issue with it was that it was a tired lazy, unfunny comment not exactly rapier repartee..........which is probably why you liked it

Having read some of the liberal PC $hit you have written, I don't see you as being the sharpest knife in the drawer.
For some people, Joe, it is funny. I'm mixed race, and if I had to deal with every racist comment I heard, I'd be fighting full time. As I said, it's human nature............... that said it doesn't make it right. But who are you to stop it? You can choose to ignore it, you can choose to be offended by it, you can choose to laugh about it. It's all about CHOICE. What is said in private should remain private. If these pundits are foolish enough to think that they aren't being recorded as soon as they walk into a studio, so that the dirt can be dished at any given opportunity, then they deserve everything they get.
