The boat people are detained. If they aren't allowed to work and feed themselves then we have to do it. It's one or the other.

Most of the immigrants are international students. Many of the rest are workers we need to fill the skills shortages, including thousands of nurses and carers. It's a bit of a chicken and egg situation.

Festive would rather the country tried to get by without them.

It depends what their situation is e.g. children, pregnant, health problems. Also, most people classed as "homeless" aren't actually street homeless, they are in insecure accommodation like sleeping on the couch at a relatives house.

A known drug dealing criminal on his way to deliver a gun is gunned down by police and people were so upset, they looted and burned local businesses. Seems that ANY excuse for a spot of looting and disorder is all that’s needed then and now. It’ll happen again, they don’t need much of an excuse.

Fine in theory but we've had asylum seeking rapists not deported in case they are persecuted in their country of origin.
