Just watched BBC news at ten, and my possible explanation put forward was pretty much accurate to the letter.

According to the BBC News at 10, there was a RWR riot arranged via social Media, which turned out to be a damp squid. But a few hundred RWR rioters turned up.
A counter demonstration, which had knowledge of the social media chat, also arrived.
There were some outbreaks of violence between the two factions.

So Charlie George is spreading social media disinformation in order to inflame social division and hatred.
