Will Boris Survive The Day?

Ah well @EFLImpudence, just another dishonest big mouth with no back up.

I'll always remember that party summer, by Boris Johnson | The Daily Mash

THE summer of 2020. For many it was a time of Covid, of lockdowns, of furlough. But I and a hundred close colleagues will always remember it as our party summer.

As the days lazily rolled on, the sun shining and the streets empty of traffic, there seemed to always be a party blossoming into raucous life on Downing Street.

Whether wine, cheese and a tableful of bottles on May 15th or the full-on 100-person bring-your-own-booze bacchanalia a week later, the champagne was flowing and spirits were high.

Like Jay Gatsby and his gang in the roaring twenties, we had nary a care. While Covid ravaged the country we chinked glasses and mingled in the Eden of Downing Street’s rose garden.

It seemed those days would never end. Even when Cummings was doing his press conference there were 50 people high as kites dancing a Charleston just over the hedge.

Back then nothing could ever go wrong for us. We were young, and free, and full of life and hope. The whole of Britain being locked down simply didn’t matter to us.

But no summer lasts forever. The months advanced, the days got shorter, the rest of the country was allowed to meet six people from a maximum of two households, and the parties lost their delicious savour. We’ll never have that summer again.

No, it was time to put away the rosé, to fold up the garden chairs, to retreat indoors and to begin planning our absolutely f**king massive party winter.

No, I can't (it is not possible to) explain it to you because you will not accept anything other than the perceived narrative that you have been fed.

Dishonest nonsense. Not one conspiracy theorist on here has been able to postulate why we are being lied to, not one.

And you won't either. You claim you know, but won't explain it, because you think I will not accept it. Is your argument so poor?

Nope, that doesn't explain why they ignored the restrictions that they imposed for others.
Anti-lockdown, anti-vaxx nutters have to pay the bills with a day job, just like everyone else.

ckuf the masses.

Restrictions work. Follow the science or get a (coherent) adult to do it for you.

Not to the antivaxxers. It is just one big hoax as far as they are concerned.

It depends on what the virus does to some extent. Some now don't believe in probability. Probably say they have never ever had a cold, cough or flu and never will.

I thought this wave was the usual. More people doing the usual things etc. Might have been with Delta and the vaccinations doing what they should but what better way for a virus to mutate when fewer people are being infected - get more infective and be less susceptible to the vaccines. Even better still infect people who have had it before

;) You can wish them a good infection rather than a happy new year and have a fair chance of being correct. Somewhat dependent on what the gov does. According to the ONC they hit in excess of 4,000,000 people infected last week for very low hospitalisation rates. Those shouldn't cause worrying problems for the state for some time now.

I honestly don't understand why the media are so excited by this. There appeared to be "work dos" going on on both sides of the house and plenty of people were having people round in lockdown 2. The vaccine was starting have an effect and the death rate was similar to where it is now. We seem to have forgotten that the purpose of the lockdown was to slow the scale of impact on the NHS, not to defeat Covid.

Yes they should lead by example, but this was a different time to 2020. Back in the start of all this journalists were flying around the word under exemption to report on Covid ffs.

Supporters of disgraceful Johnson scurry round trying to find ways to make his behaviour look acceptable.

I think we're all agreed that it wasn't the wisest of decisions to have drinks with a few colleagues whilst advising the public not to do so, but are you suggesting it's OK for the socialists to have drinks with a few colleagues but not the 'other lot'.

Really John?

Really John?

It's really a lonely time for the pro-Johnson apologists

It's long been known that he is a shameless liar and opportunist with no understanding of truth, and no respect for the nation, Parliament or the Queen.

His buddies can't cover up for him forever.

Find him a fridge to hide in.
