Thanks Jonathan, I have spoke to Ideal and they said I would need a smart bracket to work with the OpenTherm which although is an added cost, I will probably do!I've been warned on here before to be careful with Ideal Logics, because there have been several different versions. So, with this mind, I thought I should just check, will a Logic of this age definitely support OpenTherm?
However, as the OpenTherm seems more involved and I ned a boiler engineer for this, I am now leaning towards the Nest 3rd gen thermostat as It looks like this can be used as a normal wireless controller for now with on/off function and come new year get it installed to work with OpenTherm.
As I have no existing thermostat, can I still wire the Nest in easily enough, or wil I need some sort of controller?
