I am not sure if the earth wire above is just clamped to that incoming cable or if it goes inside it. It looks like it is just clamped to it, and I suspect the out sheath acts as the earth.

That would suggest it's a TN-S system then.

Is that a rubber cable coming out from the floor, and if so, is in still in service?

I only ask as you mentioned in another post all the rubber had been replaced.

Meant to mention that too, I am assuming it is dead because the spark was supposed to replace any VIR back in 1980. It was a condition of the mortgage that any VIR was replaced with PVC. However I will do some investigation to find out.

The one thing I do know about electrics is never assume anything.
