Correct. You have my sympathies ABCwarrior. Having just gone through a process of taking an a-hole to task which failed, in hindsight you are better off with the suggestion earlier from Pred of going off sick for six months and look for other work. Foreboding and a difficult option, I know, but I can tell you that the procedures do not work!
If I’d had a video camera or audio recorder I could have got the moron frog-marched off the premises! But you can’t and that’s exactly why it’s such a difficult thing to ‘out’ a moron.
If she’s like she is, is she like it with others and would those others be prepared to testify? I had witnesses to accounts of his bad behaviour and sick attitude, but he still effectively got off with a hand slap.
My case stated it should be over and done, and a conclusion reached, within 30 working days. (lmao). It took over two years, while he was redeployed, and I still to this day have nothing on paper that he will not be coming back. It’s a pyrrhic victory and the “Dignity at Work” and “Bullying and Harassment” procedures we have are not worth the paper they’re written on.
Most recently the “big cheese” came out with the ultimate political bull-sh1t line to me “we have learned lessons form it”. Well woopy f_uckin do! Life’s too short to be unhappy; whether that’s at work or in your love life.
You are captain of your own ship; master of your own destiny. You do not have to take this sh1t; there are
always options even if it means hitting rock bottom and making sacrifices you never thought you could. I know; I’ve done it.
Ultimately, from my POV, I succeeded because although he didn’t get his comeuppance I got what I wanted, which is not to work with the t_wat anymore. But if I’m honest it irks me that some other poor b_uggers will have to tolerate him or, as often happens, his like are used in areas and promoted where it’s deemed ‘useful’ to have that sick attitude.
