To use an analogy:
Suppose there is a contestant, say in a singing competition, who demonstrates their fear or hatred for say, tall people.
And I suggest, due to that contestant's attitude, that I'd like to see them beaten in the competition by a tall person. That somehow makes me fear or hate tall people.
