One of my wife's friends told her this ...........in Zimbabwe there are major problems .......

No Food, No Running water, No electricity ......If you complain she said it's a death sentance.
When she phones her parents they say everything is fine because the phones lines are tapped. ......its a death sentance if they complain during a telephone conversation.

Very grim we don't hear much about this on the news do we ........

No you won't. It's not pc to mention that the natives can't run anything straight.

It wasn't uncommon for Zimbabweans to go up to Ian Smith when he was alive and ask him to run the country again, because when he was in charge they had jobs and food. But who worries if the natives starve or not, as long as the nasty white man is banished?

Africa is possibly the worlds richest resource and its been plundered relentlessly by white invaders for centuries

China had a huge presence in Zimbabwe in the early 90s building schools, military installations etc, they certainly managed the projects but used local contractors to do the work, as did Yugoslavia

Rhodesia used to be referred to as the Bread basket of Africa, nowadays its called the Basket case of Africa.
The white minority did a lot for Rhodesia/Zimbabwe, Ian Smith said that he had in principle no objection to Rhodesian independence but that it had to be a gradual process as the Black population had no tradition of democracy.
Joint rule by the white and black populations could have avoided the catastrophe of Mugabe and his henchmen.
Democratic behaviour isn't a genetic trait which some peoples have and others don't.
It has to be instilled in the mind though education and example.
Had the British not been so eager to decolonise then things could have been a lot different.

The reason we dont hear much about Zimbabwe is because that country doesn't have anything that western countries need or want.
