£1bn to rule the country

No, I should take it up with you. You posted the image to make a political statement which turned out not to support the ideaology you initially hoped it would
You mean the ideology that "there is no magic money tree" or rather, there is when it suits the Tory bribe agenda?

I'm sorry but can't stand this any longer. The 'f' is the 2nd letter of the 2 letter word 'of'. Any wiser? ;)
Well done, Doug. You are obviously wiser than rogerIQof28.
I bet that he is still struggling with knowing where the Republic of Ireland is. Or differentiating it with NI.
I think John and I confused him because John referred to it as:
NI will join RoI
Whereas I referred to it as
... there is NI, ... and RofI,
Which left roger mystified:
and:
Where is RofI?
and:
The people of NI. Where is RofI?
and:
What does the f represent?
Hence why I asked a simpleton a simple question.

RoI, accepted as an abreviation for Republic of Ireland

RofI, No accepted abbreviation for anything well known.

Roger was actually correct in attempting to elucidate what the "f" stood for - although I'm sure he actually knew.

You think so? If your generous assessment of his intellect is correct he made himself look a right plonker in the process.
Especially bearing in mind his previous faux pas.

Judging by his previous comments it was obvious that he could not differentiate between NI and Republic of Ireland
If adams , corbyn and the other republican cohorts get their way no money will flow from Westminster to Stormont.
The irish pm will be left with going cap in hand to his/her eu masters for the extra funding required.
No explanation given as to why no money going to NI will cause RoI to suffer a funding shortfall.
Especially given his next comment:
NI will only join the republic if a majority vote says so.
Has nothing to do with brexit.
Anyone with an ounce of common sense will be fully aware of the implications that Brexit might have on the land border between NI and RoI.
Additionally, any land border between the two countries could initiate a referendum on the unity of the Island of Ireland.

Your benevolence to roger looks more like condescension.

There already is a land border.
You plonker.
All brexit means is that it becomes stronger imo.
The republicans all thought everything was fine and dandy. Then came brexit.
Now all you hear are the howls of "border poll..border poll.."
Its an arm wrestle between sinn fein and the dup. The sdlp and uup are history.

I expect we the tax payer will be paying for it. At least I hope we will. It's not so often HMG make such a shrewd investment. Good for Parliament and good for the people of NI. And as an added bonus, it's ****ed of Nicola Sturgeon. Win-win. Also, further motivation to get the NI assembly back running again, there's a stash of cash to invest, I hope they invest it wisely and for the good of Republicans/Unionists alike.

You mean there is a sword of Damocles hanging over the head of the republicans to backpedal their opposition to their objections to the DUP's position, or the money will be spent according to the flights of fancy of the Tories and the DUP, and the republicans will be denied an opinion?

Sinn Fein COULD take up the seats in UK parliament, offset the 10 DUP seats and cause havoc. They could team up with Jeremy Corbyn & the SNP. Think they will?

May be she'll cut funding of 1bn from some other budget.

It will be more than that she will have to find when the Barnett formula is applied:
The Barnett formula is a mechanism used by the Treasury in the United Kingdom to automatically adjust the amounts of public expenditure allocated to Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales to reflect changes in spending levels allocated to public services in England, England and Wales or Great Britain, as appropriate. The formula applies to a large proportion, but not the whole, of the devolved Governments' budgets
The Government still declares its intention to continue to use it as the basis for funding the three devolved governments.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barnett_formula
The Barnett formula is a system of grants that dictates the level of public spending in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

In principle, it is extremely simple.

Under it, extra funding - or cuts - from Westminster are allocated according to the population size of each nation and which powers are devolved to them.
