That’s the traffic control system. Which is totally separate…..
You see them often where traffic needs controlling, in or out of designated areas. Nothing new.
Twice now I've asked what all the fuss is.....

Nothing to do with 15 minute cities. It is Oxford's traffic management scheme.

Reducing traffic congestion. Just take a different route, people can still go to any part of the city at any time.

Even a soundbite would be a response, at least...
There's obviously pro and cons. You ve admitted you won't know what your talking about and Denso never admits there's any downsides and when these are pointed goes into trip you up spoiler mode.
As I said yesterday if these 15 minute cities get the green light at the same time as the dash to nett zero round the 2030 mark it seems quite obvious to me you'll not have the freedom to drive when and where you want.
Take for example if you do a sport such as fishing and you are member of a club outside your 15 minute walk area, it wouldn't take long for you to become a "transgressor" if your a keen angler.
This could be apportioned to a wide range of activities and with this time on our hands we lead to believe we're getting due to robots and the like instead of being able broaden our horizons (travel broadens the mind so they say) they will be somewhat narrowed if you haven't the finances.
