17kw range one requires 32amp fuse, the other 45amp?

I just made the table in Excel whilst refering to the BGB CCC tables !!! (My Christmas evening is very boring !!)

I don't want to prove ANYONE wrong, I just want to know if I've been doing things wrong for years.

Why can't you use a cooker switch with an integral socket and does that only apply to a circuit with an OPD over 32a ??

The OSG says you should allow an additional 5A into the diversity calclations to allow for a socket outlet on the cooker isolator.

Not as such but deducting 5A from 32A leaves 27A.
Working diversity backwards 27A gives you 15kW.

You may have 6mm² installed in a method which would allow a 40A OPD so then the socket would be alright.

The process of applying diversity is a guide and can be applied as part of the design process.

Personally, I would not be happy installing a circuit for a 17KW cooker on a 32A CPD over 4mm² cable. Especially where the manufacturer's instruction specify a 45amp CPD.

You either apply diversity or you don't.
The cable will be alright with a 32A OPD.
Do you think it will trip?

The larger the appliance, i.e. the more elements there are the better diversity works.

Agreed, but OP has two similar appliances and the manufacturers' instructions vary - one 32, the other 45.
Would you be unhappy installing the first to the MIs?
