Could Boris call a motion of no confidence in himself.
He cannot call an election, or pass any legislation, without the assistance of the opposition parties.
They are not minded to assist him in, for example, closing down parliament so he can get a no deal; or having an election prior to his die-in-a-ditch day. All the things he might want to do to try to outwit his opponents, his opponents have no interest in assisting him. Somebody might lend him a spade, though.
I wonder who the next PM will be?
Yes, just to point out that it is two thirds of all MPs - not just two thirds of the ones who vote.
I. Already explained it
Who did you explain would be the next PM?
Yes he could but it would make no odds
Fixed term. Parliament act brought in by Cameron
The opposition parties at this moment in time would not vote for his motion and he needs a 2 third majority of MPs to call an election
Tis a dogs breakfast Tbh
Vote of no confidence needs simple majority.
Calling for a GE under fixed term needs 66%
What would happen if a majority voted no confidence
filly is mistaken.
