The government was not ignorant - it was by design. The only way they knew to grow the economy was through increasing the populace - look at our low levels of business investment, worker productivity, high personal debt but GDP kept on growing.

I think your very right in part. Let’s say sports direct and their like. Treat thier workers very poorly. With the attitude. “Stick it or lump it. if you don’t like the way we treat you we have the hole of Eastern Europe to pick from. “
