Another stupid dog another stupid victim.

A friend's Jack Russell terrifies the postman but she's all bark, and a big softie, not that the postie takes a chance.
That's what they all say.

Postie very sensible and probably acting from experience.

Does the thing dive headlong into the door when a letter enters - every time?

I work in loads of peoples houses with dogs and most of the customers say that the dog is friendly. I never take a chance until I get to know it.

thats 2 posts ive now read that have used the term 'alsation'
as i said in my earlier post, when theres an attack its the name everyone uses.

That's because in the eighties, when I was bitten, it was the commonly-used term for such a dog. At least, it was, in my experience.

She is a softie, but when an unknown dog barks at you, you don't take the risk do you? As to the last question, no. She never bites, shows no aggression, just barks loudly, it's bloody annoying.

In my case it was a German Shepherd dog. They used to have the reputation as being nasty, probably because they were used by the police. But these days other breeds get the headlines.

bring back licensing and testing.

I'm against licensing because it will only act as yet another tax on something that people 'want something done' about, without actually doing anything.

Just like car tax, penalises the honest, achieves the square root of 0.

I have a large dog, she is 5% Akita, 25% German Shepherd and 25% Husky, also 100% Diva, 200% lovable.

While she wouldn't hurt any of us she would I think defend the house against intruders, certainly if they were to attack me or the wife.
Other than that i'm pretty sure that she will not hurt anyone unless they were aggressive towards her or us and then she'd only be protecting her family.

Best thing I could have done in the past 20 years was to get her, 2nd biggest and the fastest dog in the local park - regurarily plays with jack russels, cockapoos, chiawowas. (spellcheckers not picking that up?).
