In some Scottish valleys, you would not believe how low some of these aircraft fly at? and I agree that this sort of training is an absolute requirement.
I have been on a high level road above a loch and seen two fighter jets passing below me about 100 Feet above the water.
I have also seen transport aircraft, typically the Hercules day and night manoeuvring with steep turns and twists up various valleys, it was the night time training runs that really were both scary and impressive at the one time, at times height above ground would be about 200 Feet?
