Any Kippers here?

I want a Lexus, I have had Lexus for many years and whatever discount I would negotiate with my dealer would be better if there was less import duty on it... Besides, I wish to live my life in the UK not being restricted by the EU
So far, you have shown no restrictions. You can buy a Lexus.

You appear to be rather dim.

Please read the Directive carefully, and quote anything in it that prohibits you from installing an inefficient and polluting boiler.

fails to quote anything.

I don't believe he's read it.

What is the problem then? How is your freedom to fit boilers effected?
As of last year all domestic boilers must be ErP compliant.....In terms that you understand, the pump on a popular brand of boiler on sale in the UK has risen from around £85+vat to £200+vat To not fit an ErP compliant boiler, we have been told by manufacturers is a criminal offence. How true this is, I really don't know but this is what we are told

But I can't buy it with the same import duty as there is on a BMW.... I really don't want a BMW
Why don't you save up then? The EU does not make the car more expensive nor is the EU stopping you from buying more expensive (to import) cars from outside of the EU.
There are no restrictions. Nor have you come up with any. Just restrictions from your budget and what you can afford.

Plus, I can't buy a 3 speed Grundfoss circulator pump. You guys may enjoy paying too much for stuff but the point is, we don't have the option... The EuroStazi have removed our freedom to fit these pumps

Someone needs to start making more pumps. You are talking about market forces and not EU restrictions.

I can afford it, I just object to paying more than I need to. The point is the elected UK government cannot go to the Japanese and negotiate a reduction in import duty...The EU has kept the price of EU cars high by imposing high import duties on competition from outside the EU

Yes, there was no tax before 1971.

Oh wait, purchase tax varied between 25 and 60% since the war.
They didn't make Lexus in 1971 and in 1971, the British and Japanese governments coud negotiate whatever import duty suited them..

What problem is going to get worse?

The cost of these EU directives on the end user who will end up paying a heavy price for yet more high tech to save a a mouse fart of gas per year

maintenance and repair costs , yet ever more parts that will need to be manufactured.

then there is the environmental costs ;) u need to pull yer ead out of yer back side noseall
